Mission

Lizo Consulting is a Seattle-based company devoted to building quality, affordable data management solutions for small and mid-size businesses.

What We Do

We build databases from the ground-up, modify existing databases, create custom reporting solutions and help you use your database. We believe database solutions should make your work easier, not more complicated. With over 15 years experience developing databases, we have found that keeping things simple is the best approach. We like to use Microsoft Access and use the tools built right into Access whenever possible.

How We Work

A typical work plan:

	Assess customer requirements with an initial face-to-face meeting
	Create proposal with time/cost estimates, including a tentative completion date
	Draw up data map and schema for project
	Build database off-site
	Deliver database to client site
	Train client to use the database so they can self-maintain the system
	Support client with assistance and product updates as needed

In general, we bill on an hourly basis for development work and support calls. We charge a retainer of 25% of the estimated project cost at the beginning of each project. The remainder of our fees are billed on a monthly basis, or at the end of the project.

Who We Are

Lizo Consulting is run by Liz O'Donoghue. Formerly a Webmaster and Database Developer at Microsoft, Liz left her position in 2001 to pursue a combined career of "Domestic Engineer" and Database Developer. Her daughter, Samantha, is generally supportive of Liz's work plans and only occasionally comes along on client site visits.

Who You Are

Our ideal client is located in the Greater Seattle Area and needs help with a database solution. You may have an existing database that needs modifications, reports, or a set of data that needs a new database built from the ground-up. Access is a flexible tool, but your projected consecutive users for the solution should be no more than 50 users.

Our current client list is diverse and includes a local university (go dawgs!), a major soft-drink manufacturer, a hat manufacturer, a paint manufacturer, a private pre-school, an archaeological firm, an architectural firm and a hydroelectric company. References are available upon request.
